LAI Chairman is honored by the Industry

Gay Byrne recieving his award

At a recent Black Tie ceremony in the Mansion House, the LAI Chairman, Gay Byrne received and award in recognition of his years of service to the Electrical Industry.  Gay won the “Overall Achievement for Outstanding Performance and Dedication to the Electrical Industry of Ireland” category at the inaugural National Electrical Awards 2018.  This category set out to select recognise an individual or a company who has enhanced the electrical sector through their dedication and tireless hard work within the industry and although Gay was up against some very tough opposition, he was truly delighted to receive the accolade.

The National Electrical Awards, recognised the high levels of excellence from all across the country.  The country’s top electrical contractors, consultants, wholesalers, manufacturers, people, products and projects were all represented and rewarded at the ceremony.  Categories such as Apprentice of the Year, Innovative Product of the Year and Wholesaler of the Year were all awarded on the night.

Hosted by Ireland’s Electrical Magazine, the awards were judged by an independent panel of respected industry experts who, through their experience, industry knowledge and professional approach, selected the winners from across 16 different categories.  This event is planned to be a Bi-Annual event so watch this space!

Some of the members of the Lighting Association spruced themselves up and attended the awards and were happy to both sponsor some of the award categories and indeed win some of the awards themselves.  Some of the members are pictured below.
